I am a Consultant Neurosurgeon with a full-time practice at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Teaching Hospitals. I am one of four consultants providing subspecialist Neurovascular care in Cambridge. I have a further specialist interest in degenerative spinal surgery and contribute to the emergency on-call neurosurgical rota.
Within my specialist practice I deal with cerebral aneurysms, cerebral bypass surgery, arteriovenous malformations, cavernoma, AV dural fistulae, spinal stenosis, cauda equina syndrome, back pain, sciatica, myelopathy and brachalgia as well as treating a wide range of general neurosurgical and spinal conditions as part of the emergency on call service including head injuries and hydrocephalus. I do not manage spinal fractures/spinal trauma
I am a clinical lead for the eBrain training platform and the Director of the Brain Mapping Cadaveric lab at Addenbrookes/Cambridge University. I serve as the Neurosurgical departments Venous Thromboembolism lead.
Medicolegal Work
I accept instructions for all aspects of non-instrumented degenerative spinal surgery including cauda equina syndrome, Neurovascular surgery and general emergency neurosurgery/cranial trauma.
